Ambassador Extraordinary and Flenipotentiary of the

Republic of Poland in Tokyo

The 19th October 1938

Monsieur l'Ambassadeur,

the 5th Year of Kangte.

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency'e note of today's date in which you have been so good

as to make a communication to me as follows:

*With reference to the notes exchanged between us under

today's date for the pur ose or rendering normal the legal

atatus of the Consulate of Poland in Harbin on condition of

reciprocity, I have the honour to state that i should be gratefu

if Your Excellency would be good enough to inform your Govern- ment that my "overnment has appointed Mr Jerzy Litewski as

Consul of Poland in Harbin in succession to the last holder of

that office, Mr Aleksander Kwiatkowski, Mr. Litewski who assumed his new duties under date of April lat, 1938 will proceed to

Heinking to present his Letter ratent and obtain the Imperial

Exequatur of Manchoukuo.*

I have the honour to state that I have not failed to

convey the above information to my Government. I should be

grateful if Your Excellency would be so good as to inform Your

Government that my Government has taken due note of the contents of your note ander acknowledgement and that, when Mr Jerzy Litewski comes to Hainking to present his Letters Patent, my Government will be glad to grant the Exequatur to him in the

capacity of Consul of Poland in Harbin.

I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency, Monsieur l'Ambassadeur, the assurance of my highest

consideration.
