What war plonged as a formal Dragon Boat race
to celebrate the Dragon Boat Fastival turned out to be an exhibition race yesterday at the Chung Shing Bathing Bavilion due to the de- layed arrival of throp boots.
According to Mr. C. C. Cheng, Chairman of the
Chung Shing Benevolent Society and sponsor of the race, the delayed arrival of the Luon Shun Tong boat was due to the detention of the boat off Central Market, while the boat was on its way to the Chung Shing Bathing Pavilion, by the police who ruled that the boat was carrying an excess of crew.
