Requests, with reference to No. 43, that he with Dr. Shipley will inspect the instruments and, if they meet with their approval, order eight of the high-power and twelve of the cheaper. States that the microscopes to be used in the ankylostomiasis campaign will be selected by Drs. Bagshawe and Ship- ley and shipped in due course by the Crown Agents.

Explains the formation and objects of the International Health Commission; considers it unlikely that Mr. Rose could spare time to visit the Seychel- les, but suggests that the Commission might authorize a scheme for the Seychelles; requests that a full state ment may be prepared of the preva lence of this disease in the Colony, with a report on the measures taken for its eradication, and any general
observations.
