Ordinance.

Observes that Mr. Rose is expected in London on 10th March and a mesting of the Ankylostomiasis Committee has been called for 17th March; and re- quests that, in the event of Sir David Semple not being in the country, a representative may be nominated to attend the meeting and to give Mr. Rose such information as he may re- quire for the purposes of his visit to Egypt.

States that Mr. Wickliffe Rose has ar- ranged for Dr. F. M. Sandwith to accompany him on his forthcoming tour to Egypt.

Minutes of proceedings at a conference between members of the Ankylosto miasis Committee and Mr. Wickliffe Rose of the Rockefeller Institute.

Forwards a copy of a letter to the Governor of Trinidad sending him a copy of a minute of the action of the Executive Committee of the Commis- sion with regard to the budget for the proposed campaign in Trinidad; and asks whether the funds should be paid in advance to Trinidad or whether the Colony will assume the expense in the Grat instance and recover quarterly from the Commission. States that Mr. Wickliffe Rose, Director of the International Health Commis- sion, accompanied by Dr. F. M. Sand- with, will feave England shortly for Egypt, whence he will proceed to Ceylon.

Acknowledges the receipt of No. 16; notes with pleasure the progress made with the sanitation of estates, and the satisfactory relations existing between the Inspecting Medical Officers and the public; and suggests that no ma- terial change in the enforcement of the penal provisions of the Ordinance should be made until Mr. Rose has made known the proposals of the Commission. Understands that a scheme for treating 71

ankylostomiasis in the Peter District of British Guiana has been put in operation and requests particu-

lars.
