Agrees to the proposal in No. 61 for the payment of Colonial and Imperial contributions into a special fund at the office of the Crown Agents, pro- vided suitable arrangements are made to enable the Finance Department to draw upon the Crown Agents for funds.
Transmits, with remarks, copies of Nos. 11 and 63, and authorizes the opening of the " Imperial Institute Fund"; states manner in which the various Colonial contributions promised should be dealt with.
Notes arrangements in No. 62 with regard to the Imperial contribution, and agrees to the accounts of the Fund being audited by the Comptroller and Auditor-General.
Transmits copies of Nos. 62 and 65; considers that the present arrange- ments should be provisional only, and suggests the appointment of an inter- departmental Committee to discuss
the
permanent arrangements for carrying on the work of the Institute.
Reports, with reference to No. 51, that 47
the question of an increased grant has not been submitted to the Legislative Council, but that a supplementary vote for £50 will be proposed at the next meeting points out that Sir J. Rodger, in No. 44, has overlooked the contribution made by Southern Nigeria to Northern Nigeria, and that if payments are based on revenue, certain contributions should be revised.
Reports that the Company has granted £1,000 to the Institute for scientific research in regard to the economic products of the Colonies.

Informs them that the Comptroller and Auditor-General has undertaken to audit the new account of the "Im- perial Institute Fund."
Acknowledges receipt of No. 67, and states that the Crown Agents have been instructed to pay accordingly.
Forwards copy of opinion of Law Officers as to the delegation to the Colonial Office by the Board of Trade of its powers under the Imperial Institute Transfer Act of 1902, and submits proposals for carrying out the arrange-
ment.
Acknowledges receipt of No. 76, and requests to be informed as soon as a reply is received to the letter addressed to the India Office.
Forwards copy of a letter from the India Office on the proposals of the Board of Trade for the future management of the Institute, together with copies of the previous correspondence re- ferred to; observes that the Managing Committee are disposed to think that the proposals of the India Office are reasonable.
Observes that Lord Elgin has no ob- jection to the appointment of a third manager to represent the India Office, but sees strong objection to paying him from general funds; and that the suggestion that the Board of Trade should arbitrate in the case of differ- ence of opinion appears to be un- necessary.
Reports rejection by the House of Assembly of the proposal to increase the annual contribution to the funds of the Imperial Institute to £50, and proposes to make up the amount from Crown Funds.
Enquires whether the arrangements for the future management of the Im- perial Institute, suggested in No. 76, are agreed to.
