Acknowledges the receipt of No. 77, and states that, though the explana- tions and information furnished are not satisfactory, the matter will not be pursued further; requests that the Directors of the Bank may be in- formed that their mode of doing business cannot be allowed to continue and that farther Government assist- ance must not be expected.

Transmits a copy of "Remarks" on No. 65 which Mr. Leolégio laid on the table of the Council of Government on 22nd September; together with a copy of the recorded minutes of the meeting of the Chamber of Agricul- ture at which Mr. Leclézio's original remarks were made.

the Legislative Council have onani- mously passed a resolution that an a measure of relief to the Colony, in its present depressed financial condition, the Colony be exempted for a period of three years from the payment of the military contribution.
