November 28 Acknowledges receipt of No. 48 and concurs generally in the terms of the draft despatch to the Governor subject to the opinion that the prohibition of the importation of Mexican and British dollars should be continued for some time until the new currency is firmly established.

Banctions Ordinance No. XXIV. of 1963 requests that the draft of an amending Ordinance, modifying the severity of the penalties for illegal Importation may be submitted; eng- gests also modification of the pro- vision that the whole amount of coin seized shall be forfeited.

Replies to No. 49; directs that the expenses of the new coinage should be met from general revenue; encloses copy of a notification published in India, on the lines of which the issue of dollars in exchange for gold might take place; expresses opinion that when the amending Ordinance sug- gested in No. 57 is introduced, Ordin- ance Ne.
