otherwise howsoever, by way of profit, to the persons who at any time are or have been members of the Presbyterial Committee, or to any of them or to any persons claiming through any of them; provided that nothing herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of remuneration to any officers or servants of the Church of Scotland in Mauritius or to any member thereof or other person in return for any services actually rendered to the said Church.
6. The treasurer of the Presbyterial Committee shall keep a record of all sum received and disbursed by it; and on or before the 1st of April in each year the chairman shall furnish to Government a detailed statement of the expenditure of the funds received from Government during the previous year.
7. The said Presbyterial Committee shall hold its meetings at St. John's Church, Port Louis, or in such other convenient place as its members may determine, and shall have power to frame byelaws for the calling of its meetings, the manner of voting, and for guidance in other matters for which rules are required for the proper couduct of its business; provided that nothing shall be enacted in such byelaws inconsistent with the objects set forth in the above articles of this Ordinance.
8. This Ordinance shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

EXPLANATORY REPORT ON ORDINANCE.
This Ordinance is intended to constitute into a corporate body the authorities of the Church of Scotland in this Colony. It was introduced by Dr. Meldrum at the request of the parties interested, and passed without any opposition in the Council of Government.
2. I am of opinion that the Royal Assent may properly be given to this Ordinance.
