directed by Wang Wei-Yi.
Sale of Scripts.
The pro-Communist elements have started to
sell veiled pro-Communist scripts (written by local
pro-Communists or Communist authors in China) to
liberal producers with the assurance that, when such
scripts are filmed, they will have no trouble with
the censors in China. These scripts are considerably
cheaper than the scenarios written by the local
liberal screen playwrights.
As many producers are interested in earning
enough Chinese currency to maintain their offices
and dependents in China, there is no reason why
they should not buy such superficially harmless
scripts. The fact that those scripts are much
cheaper is another inducement.
The pro-Communists usually permit the buyer
of those scripts to substitute a pseudonym for the
scenarists real name with a view to evading the
Singapore censor's attention.
Infiltration into New Territory.
The pro-Communists are planning to infiltrate
