Dear Morgan,
Many thanks for your letter of 21st October (96038/1 (15)), asking us for any material which we have dealing with Communist activities in the educational field.
I regret that we have not much material on exactly the aspect you require, since nearly all our studies have, of course, been devoted to countries which are already firmly under Communist control. All that I can send you at the moment is our short paper entitled "Training the Young for Stalin", which you probably have already seen; nevertheless I enclose two copies.
We have at the moment in draft a very complete study of the whole Russian system of education, including details of the develop- ment of Communist thought on this subject; here again, although such material is not exactly what you require for your purpose, it may be useful to you for background purposes, and I will arrange to have two copies of it transmitted to you for passing to Hong Kong as soon as it is completed.
