Well, all I can say in answer to that question is, that

Medical Officers of Health have to combine a little

knowledge of each of those branches of science.

So that in point of fact, he would in practice be

dependent on the various professional men working under

him. He has a Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, bacteriol-

ogist, analyst, and Government Engineer.

I dont know whether it is any use discussing this

matter. It is not in the Ordinance, and it has never

been carried out.

We ask questions about things that are not in the

Ordinance.
