5. Section 8 of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting, after "judge wherever it occurs, the following-

Section 17 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (1), by inserting, after "if any.", the following-
"or where appropriate his commuted pension gratuity supple- mented in accordance with subsection (ZA)"NI

(8) in subsection (2), by inserting, after "It any,",
Hor where appropriate his commuted pension gratuity supple- mented in accordance with subsection (ZA)")" and
(c) by inserting, after subsection (2), the following now subsection- "(ZA) In the case of an officer who served under the Government for not less than I nor more than 20 years, the commuted pension gratuity may be supplemented by deaning his period of service to be the lesser period of twice his actual period of service (subject to a maximum of 20 yearą) or that period of service which he would have completed if be had served until attaining the age of 55 years.”.
