Amendment of Bection 17.

Section 17 of the principal Ordinance is unbended—

(a) in subsection (1), by inserting, after "if any,”, the following—

"or where appropriate his commuted pension gratuity supple mented in accordance with subsection (2A)"?

(8) in subsection (2), by inserting, after "if any," the following-

"or where appropriate his commuted pension gratuity supple- mented in accordance with subsection (A); and

(c) by inserting, after subsection (2), the following new subsection—

"(ZA) In the case of an officer who served under the Government for not less than $ not more than 20 years, the commuted pension gratuity may be supplemented by dearning his period of service to be the lesser period of twice his actual period of service (subject to a maximum of 20 years) or that period of service which he would have completed if be had served until attaining the age of 55 years.".

An Ordinance to regulate the taking of money on deposit and to make

provision for the protection of persons who deposit money.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Deposit-taking Companies Short Ute and Ordinance 1976 and shall come into operation on a date to be appointed commencent. by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

1 (1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires— "advertisement" includes every form of advertising, whether notified or

published-

(e) in a newspaper, magazine, journal or other period[ca] publication; (b) by the display of posters or notices;

(c) by means of circulara, brochures, pamphlets or handbills;

(d) by an exhibition of photographs or cinematograph filma; or

(e) by way of sound broadcasting or television,

and references to the issue of an advertisement shall be construed accordingly

"Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Banking appointed under the

Banking Ordinance;
