(c) in paragraph (3), by inserting after "driver" in the first
place where it occurs the following-
"of an omnibus”.
31. Regulation 73 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) in paragraph (1) by inserting after "omnibus" the follow-
ing-
“or a light bus":
(8) in paragraph (2) by inserting after "seat" in the first
place where it occurs the following-
"of an omnibus and a light bus";
(c) in paragraph (3) by inserting after "omnibus" the follow-
iog-
"and a light bus";
(d) in paragraph (5) by inserting after "carried" the follow-
ing-
"'on an omnibus";
(e) by inserting after paragraph (5) the following new
paragraph-
*(6) In every light bus the driver's seat shall be adequately protected by a guardrail which-
(a) is situated to the left of the driver's seat: (b) provides adequate room for the driver; and (c) is at any point not less than fifteen inches
from the centre of the steering wheel.".
32. Regulation 74 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-
**Wind-
74. In every omnibus and light bus, there shall screens and be fitted in front of the driver-
windscreen wipers.
(d) a glass windscreen; and
(b) an efficient automatic windscreen wiper.".
33. Regulation 75 of the principal regulations is amended, by deleting paragraph (1) and substituting the following--
"(1) Every omnibus and light bus, and all the body work, upholstery, seats and fittings of such vehicles shall be-
(a) soundly and properly constructed;
(b) well finished;
(4) in good and serviceable condition; and

(d) of such design as to be capable of withstanding loads and stresses likely to be encountered in operation.".
34. Regulation 76 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-
"Fire extin- guishers.
76. (1) There shall be carried, inside every omnibus and light bus, a fire extinguisher of a type and capacity specified by the Commissioner-
(a) in such a position as to be readily accessible
and available for use; and
(6) which shall be maintained at all times in
good and efficient working order.
(2) For the purposes of this regulation the Com- missioner may, by notice in the Gazette, specify the type and capacity of fire extinguishers to be carried in an omnibus and a light bus.”.
35. Regulation 78 of the principal regulations is revoked.
36. Regulation 80 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-
"Exemption.
80. The Commissioner in his absolute discre- tion and upon such terms and conditions as he con- siders necessary may-
(a) exempt from the provisions of regulations
35, 56, 63 and 64 any-
(D) private omnibus; and
(ii) public omnibus, not being a public omnibus used in connexion with the main- tenance of a service in accordance with a grant by or under any enactment of the exclusive right or licence of maintaining such service:
(b) exempl any light bus from the provisions of regulations 35. 36. 43, 56, 58, 60, 61, 63, 64. 65 and 70.".
37. Regulation 97 of the principal regulations is revoked.
38. Regulation 103 of the principal regulations is revoked.
