39. Part II of the principal regulations is amended, in the heading "Section II– Omnibuses, taxis and public cars.", by insert- ing after "Omnibuses." the following-

"light_buses.".

40. Regulation 130 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

**Internal illumination.

130. All lamps provided on an omnibus and a light bus in compliance with regulation 70 shall be kept alight at all times between sunset and sunrise when passengers are being carried.”,

41. Regulation 132 of the principal regulations is revoked.

42. Regulation 133 of the principal regulations is revoked.

43. Regulation 135 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting after "omaibus," the following-

"a light bus.".

44. Regulation 136 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting after "omnibus," the following-

"a light bus.".

45. Regulation 137 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) in paragraph (1)→→

(1) by inserting after "omnibus," the following——--

"a light bus.":

(i) by deleting "vehicle licence issued" and substitut- ing the following-

"register of motor vehicles":

(b) in paragraph (2)—

(i) by inserting after "omnibus," the following –

"a light bus.":

(ii) by deleting "vehicle licence" and substituting the following-

"register of motor vehicles";

(c) in paragraph (3), by deleting "The persons to whom such vehicle licence is granted" and substituting the follow- ing

"The owner of an omnibus, a light bus, a public car or a taxi".

46. Regulation 138 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Design of omnibuses.

138. (1) No motor vehicle shall be registered as a public omnibus unless-

(4) prior approval in writing has been obtained from the Commissioner for the particular design or type of chassis to be used in the vehicle having regard to the route upon which it is intended to use it; and

(6) the body of the vehicle is constructed in

accordance with—

(i) plans; and

(ii) drawings showing elevations and general arrangements,

which have been previously approved in writing by the Commissioner.

(2) After the coming into operation of the Road Traffic (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regula- tions 1969, no motor vehicle shall be registered or used as a private omnibus or as a public or private light bus, unless it is of a-

(a) design;

(b) type:

(c) manufacture; and (c) model,

previously approved by the Commissioner for use as

a private omnibus or as a public or private light bus. as the case may be.

(3) For the purposes of paragraph (2), the Com- missioner may signify his approval either-

(a) generally by notice in the Gazette: or (b) in any particular case in writing.".

47. Part III of the principal regulations is amended in Section Il by adding, after regulation 138, the following new regulation- "Signs on private light base

carrying students.

1384. No person shall drive or use, or cause or permit to be driven or used, a private light bus for the carriage for hire or reward to or from an educa- tional institution of the students, teachers and em- ployees of the educational institution unless there is displayed-

(a) at the front facing forward:
