Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the Order, bur is intended to Indicâte its” general purport),

The Kai Tak Range, which is presently described as Firing Area F in Part I of the First Schedule to the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, Chapter 196, will no longer be used as a Acing area for the purposes of the Ordinance. A new classification ronpa bas been but!! at Lo Wu in the New Territories to provide for Bring practice which has hitherto been held at Kai Tak.

2. The amendments contained in paragraphs 2 and 3 of the above Order have been designed to achieve the change.

BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR ROBERT BROWN BLACK, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by section 1 of the Clean Air Ordinance, 1959 (No. 19 of 1959), it is provided that the said Ordinance shall come into opera- tion on a day to be appointed by the Governor by Proclamation in the Gazette:

NOW THEREFORE, I, ROBERT BROWN BLACK, do hereby PROCLAIM that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on the 15th day of February, 1960.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong this 12tb day of February, 1960.
