STAMP ORDINANCE,

(Chapter 117).

STAMPING AND DENOTING of Documents (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1960.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Stamp Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1.

These regulations may be cited as the Stamping and Denoting Citation. of Documents (Amendment) Regulations, 1960.

2. Paragraph (1) of regulation 3 of the Stamping and Denoting Amendment of Documents Regulations is amended by the deletion of the words "at of regula.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport),

The Stamp Ordinance, Chapter 117, and the subsidiary legislation made thereunder do not contain a provision for the establishment of a stamp office. Doubt has arisen as to whether it will be possible to stamp documents in a place other than that where the Collector of Stamp Reveque conducts the business of his department. For the removal of doubt and for the convenience of the members of the public, it is considered appropriate to make the amendmeşl contained in regulation 2 to permit of the stamping of documents in any place where the Collector or an assistant collector may have his office,
