TRADING WITH THE ENEMY ORDINANCE, 1914,

Order by the Governor

(under sections 2A and 6 of the Ordinance).

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 3A and of the Trading with the Enemy Ordinance, 1914, (which render jueffective, except with the sanction of the Governor, the transfer by or on behalf of enemies of negotiable instruments and choses in potion) His Excellency the Governor makes the following Order :-

I. This Order may be cited as the Trading with the Enemy (Transfer of Negotiable Instruments, etc.) (Japan) Order, 1949.

The Governor hereby sanctiona—

Citation,

Sanction of assigament

(a) any assignment of a chose in action which, on or of choses in after the date of this Order, comos into the ownership of the action and

negotiable Government or a person to whom this Order applies,

(b) any transfer of a negotiable instrument issued on or after that date, and

(e) any transfer of any security transferable by delivery, not being a bond, a coupon or a negotiable instrument, which on or after that date comes into the ownership of the Government or a person to whom this Order applies,

being an asaigument or transfer made on or after the date of this Order by reason of any trade authorised by the Trading with the Enemy (Authorisation) (Japan) (No. 2) Order, 1949, by or on behalf of an Authority or a person to whom this Order applies.

3. This Order applies-

(b) to any individual resident in Japan;

(c) as respecte any business carried on in Japan, to any individual or body of persons (whether corporate or unincorporate) currying on that business.

For the purpose of this Order "Japan" means all territory "Japan"* which was under Japanese sovereignty on 7th December, 1941. defined.
