brought up to a level of +9.00 above O.D. for a length of 360 lineal feet. The construction of the live stock landing was completed to the underside of cope level. Owing to the fluid nature of the silt over the site of the works considerable settlement took place during construction and it was considered necessary to suspend operations to allow the silt time to consolidate before completing the structures. There was evidence that consolidation had not ceased by the end of the year!

133. Construction of Yard for Storage of Sand at Praya East:- A contract for this work was let to Messrs. Woo Hing in April and was completed satisfactorily in July. Twenty-two concrete bins with a total storage capacity for sand of approximately 600 cubic yards were constructed and an office and watchman's quarters were erected.

134. Resumption for Road Widening Schemes approved by Government as rebuilding occurs:- Various minor street widenings and resumptions in connection with development schemes were effected.

ANTI-MALARIAL WORKS.
135. Anti-Malaria Works, including cost of resumptions: Work in the Sookunpoo area was completed toward the end of year. A continuation of permanent nullah training was carried out in the Mount Parker area at Quarry Bay and at Kowloon Tong. Further resumption of agricultural lots in the Little Hong Kong area were effected.

136. Magistracy at Yaumati:- This work was referred to in paragraph 143 of last year's Report. A contract for the superstructure was let to Messrs. Tak Hing & Co. on Feb. 6th, 1935. Excellent progress was made and by the end of the year the work was approaching completion. Wiring for electric lights, fans and power was in hand.
