36. Mr. A. R. Sutherland, I.S.O., M.A. proceeded on leave prior to retirement, after which Mr. J. Ralston, M.A. acted as Inspector of English Schools.
37. Mr. W. Kay was absent on furlough for 10 months during which time Mr. Handyside acted as Headmaster of King's College.
38. To fill vacancies caused by retirements one Master and six Mistresses were appointed from home viz: Mr. G. S. Wilby, and the Misses D. P. Burslem, N. Himsworth, M. S. McGuffog, L. R. Sinclair, B. E. Abraham and U. Tulloh.
39. Mr. G. White, Principal of the Junior Technical School, was re-engaged on the expiry of his agreement in December with the title of Principal, Trade and Technical Schools.
