The reservoirs were at or above their permanent overflow levels for the following periods :-

The quantity of water in storage at the end of the year was 572.53 million gallons.
216 tap samples of filtered water were examined by the Government Bacteriologist with the following results:-
197 showed B.C.C. absent in 50 C.C. 91.2%
11 others were above standard (B.C.C. absent in 10 C.C.) 5.1%
8 were below standard 3.7%
These results compare favourably with those obtained in London and other British Cities.
The mainland supply was treated with 3.77 tons of liquid chlorine which is equivalent to an average admixture of 0.30 of a part per million.
The analyses made by the Government Analyst showed that the water was of good quality throughout the year.
At the end of the year there were in use 135 public stand pipes, 131 pedestal fire hydrants and 346 single underground fire hydrants.
