Paper Works Reservoir. The station which is situated near the Paper Mills Dam is a single-story building with brick walls and reinforced concrete flat roof. The building is divided into two sections by a brick wall, one section housing the electric motor and pumping equipment and the other section is a store room and sleeping accommodation for the attendant. The installation which is used to deliver from the Paper works or Aberdeen Lower Dam, either to the Aberdeen Upper Dam or to the Elliot Filters consists of an 8" Mather & Platt "Medivane" Split casing Type medium Lift Centrifugal Pump, capable of delivering 1,390 gallons of water per minute against a total head of 103 feet when running at a speed of about 1,500 revolutions per minute and is driven by a "Mather and Platt" Screen Protected Slipping Rotor Induction Motor capable of developing an output of 65 B.H.P. continuously, when running at a full load speed of 1,500 revolutions per minute, working from a 350 volts, 50 cycles, three-phase supply. The switch gear is the "Totally Enclosed Triple Pole Free handle Oil immersed combined Stator and Rotor Control Panel" type.

283. Item 8, Pumping Station-Aberdeen Lower Pumping Station. This work was referred to in paragraph 250 Item 8 of last year's Report. By the end of August this station was completed and the pumps and motor installed and successfully tested. The building which is situated on Island Road at the Eastern end of the Aberdeen Docks is of the reinforced concrete frame and brick panelled type. The ground floor is divided into two sections by a half wall, one section housing the electric motor and pumping equipment and the other side is an office and store room, whilst at the back there is a staff kitchen, bathroom and latrine. The upper floor is entirely devoted to staff sleeping and living accommodation. The installation which is used to increase the delivery from the Upper Aberdeen Dam to the Elliot Filter Beds is what is usually termed a "Booster". The plant consists of a 10" Mather & Platt "Lonovane" Split casing type, Low Lift Centrifugal Pump capable of delivering 2,780 gallons of water per minute against a total head of forty feet when running at a speed of about 1,000–970 revolutions per minute and is driven by a "Mather and Platt" Drip Proof Type Wound Rotor Induction Motor, capable of developing continuously an output of
