Parcels, ordinary and insured, which were dealt with reached a total of 397,729 as against 396,195 in 1924—an increase of 1,534.

Negotiations are now being conducted with the Canadian Postal Administration for the extension of the insured parcel Service to that country, and it is hoped that the agreement for the exchange of insured parcels between Hongkong and Canada will come into force in 1926.

Full details appear in Tables II and III.

Table VI shows the Revenue and Expenditure of the Post Office for the ten years 1916 and 1925.

Table VII gives the Revenue from the sale of postage stamps for the years 1923, 1924 and 1925. The decrease of Revenue from this source in the year 1925 as compared with that of the year 1924 was $105,373.09.

5.-MONEY ORDERS.

The result of the year's Money Order transactions must be considered satisfactory as it shows a net increase of £603.0.0 notwithstanding adverse political conditions and loss of business through the discontinuance of the Straits Settlements Money Order transactions with China through the intermediary of Hongkong. The former Administration arranged as from April 1st to conduct direct transactions with China.
