186. Clearing and forming sites to the West of Kowloon City Road. This work consisted of cutting and filling areas to the West of Kowloon City Road to the "Town Planning Levels" for the purpose of forming sites for exchange.
The work, divided into two sections known as the "Blue Area" and "Yellow Area", is being carried out by Messrs. Kin Lee & Co., under Orders Nos. C6 and C9.
By the end of the year, an area of 200,000 sq. ft. has been formed to proper levels, which provided accommodation for 40 sites.

187. Underground Cable Scheme, 2nd Section, Kowloon.—Stores to the value of $29,022.00 arrived in the Colony late in the year. Very little work was, however, carried out during the year beyond a preliminary survey of the routes. The scheme provides for the substitution of underground cables for the present aerial telephone wires in Kowloon and also for the installation of 12 fire alarm pillars at various points.

188. Forming and levelling areas in Tai Shek Ku Valley. It was not possible to proceed with the main section of this work, only a small expenditure for very minor filling in being incurred.

189. Miscellaneous Works.—The following were the principal works carried out under this heading:
(a). Temporary Dogs' Home, Waterloo Road.—The buildings in this connection were constructed to the requirements of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and provide accommodation for dogs and bitches, together with a sick pen and a lethal chamber. They are so constructed as to permit of their being dismantled and re-assembled at another site, if and when required. The cost was $3,167.27.
