All appliances are in good working order.

Drills have been carried out as circumstances permitted.

Water Supply-Pressure generally for fire extinguishing purposes has been good but at some points the mains are too small.

During the year a number of Hydrants of the treble outlet pattern have been connected to the Mains.

The year under review has been a busy one. In a number of cases there was great delay in calling the Brigade. This is unsatisfactory as the work of the Brigade is greatly increased by such negligence as is also the danger to the public at large.

MOTOR AMBULANCE SERVICE.

The Motor Ambulance continues to do much useful work. No less than 169 cases having been dealt with during the year. The present Ambulance the property of the St John's Ambulance Association is operated by the Government at Government Expense. It is hardly suited for the heavy hill work in Victoria and will shortly be replaced by a new Motor Ambulance from England.
