Your telegram No. 391. Following telegram has been sent by Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs to United Kingdom Representative in Commonwealth of Australia. Begins.
We should be grateful if you would convey tó His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia an expression of the grateful appreciation of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom and of the Government of Hong Kong for their readiness to assist in connection with the reception into Australia of British women and children evacuated from Hong Kong. Enda.
Similar expression of appreciation is being sent through His Majesty's Ambassador in Washington in respect of the reception of evacuees in the Philippines.
