Entry into Diplomatic Quarter Peking of uniformed Chinese.
Addressed Shanghai 236. Morning 20th July two parties of Chinese in uniform but unarmed marched into Piplomatic Quarter though informed at the gate that
soldiers were not permitted to enter without bermission of the Commission. It appears from subsequent enquiries that they were local police cadets visiting the Japanese consular police
headquarters attached to Japanese Embassy as part of their training. They left a few hours later. Question in Registr22nd July, 1939 of representations is under consideration.
