Tung who took over when the original manager, S.D. Renn,
went over to America with K.P. Chen. P.S. Witham, who
came out in 1937 as an adviser on production and marketing
to the China National Tea Corporation, was on cone lus ion
of the Russian Tea Barter agrement of 188 attached to
Fu Hua, end appears to be more or less permanent ly
transferred from the corporation.
So far as tea is concerned
the differentiation, et le ast in theory, between the Fu
lus and the Corporation appears to be that the former
deals with tea under the Barter Agreement whereas the
latter, which is under the Ministry of Economics, is
supposed to control the production and export of all tea

This, as stated above, is a branch of the Ministry of
Economics and is controlled by Dr. Kin-wei Shaw, who is of
course, und er ang Ten-hao, though Rob Scott tells me he
is a partisan of E.H. Kung and seems, therefore, to have
got into the wrong camp. The director of the Corporation
here is Y.Y. Dunn, who is also sub-manager of the Hongkong
office of the Menufacturers' Bank of China (or which,
strangely enough, H.li. Kung is chairman and director).
