areas.
Japanese have apparently thinned out their
forces along frontier and unconfirmed customs and police
reports state they have withdrawn from Mirs Bay and Bias Bay
Estimated about 2500 Japanese still remain vicin ty
frontier but hitherto they have made no serious attempt to
join up with main body of 18th division in East river area.
Present indications from all local sources tend to show
Japanese do not repeat not contemplate any major military or
naval operations in immediate future.
