Japanese military operations on Hong Kong frontier. Copy telegrams from General Officer Commanding Hong Kong (1) No. 5452 of 31st August (2) No. 5456 of 1st September. Japanese have withdrawn from Bias Bay and North West shore of Mirs Bay areas whence normal foodstuff and other goods are arriving in Hong Kong. They seem temporarily to have abandoned intention of instituting military operations or strict blockade against the colony, It is reported that Japanese are pulling up track on Kowloon-Canton railway and that Chinese have destroyed all motor roads south of Waichow.
