Land Transfer.

[40 VICT.]

A.D. 1886. missioners of Her Majesty's Treasury for compensation, and the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury shall inquire whether any, and if any, what compensation ought to be made to the petitioner, regard being had to the conditions on which his appointment was made, the nature of his offion, the duration of 5 his service, the character of his fees or emolumenta, and all the circumstances of the case. The petitioner shall reader to the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury such account of the fees and emoluments received by him during any period not exceed- ing five years before the passing of this Act, and during such period 10 before the date of his petition, and give such information as the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury may require for the purpose of enabling them to ascertain whether the petitioner has suffered the loss alleged by him, and whether any, and if any, what compensation ought to be made to him.

If the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury think that the claim of the petitioner to compensation is established, they may award to him, out of moneys to be provided by Parliament, such compensation, by annuity or otherwise, as under the circumstances of the case they think just and reasonable,

Abolition of Office of Land Registry.

15. The Land Transfer Board shall come into office on such day as may be directed by order of the Lord Chancellor.

16. On the day on which the Land Transfer Board comes into land registry office there shall cease to be an office of land registry, and on and after that day all powers, duties, privileges, and immunities vested in, exerciseable by, or attached to the registrar under the principal Act shall be transferred to, vested in, and be attached 80 to the Land Transfer Board, and shall be exercised and performed by and attached to such board or any one or more of the members thereof who may from time to time be appointed for that purpose by the Lord Chancellor, and all matters and things by the principal Aot capable of being done by or to the registrar may be done by 35 or to the Land Transfer Board, or any one or more of the members thereof who may be from time to time appointed for that purpose by the Lord Chancellor, and all proceedings before any member of
