Certificate of Appointment.
You are hereby appointed {Cssistant
Assistant Examining Officer for the port of Hong Kong, and are empowered to take such steps as may be necessary for the verification of the friendly character of vessels in the immediate vicinity of the port, and of those desiring to enter the port.
You have authority over the movements of all vessels other than His Majesty's ships. Disobedience of your orders on the part of Masters will render their vessels liable to be fired on.
You will be further guided in the performance of your duties by the Instructions contained in the Traffic Regulations of the Port.
