In the second round of the Stubbs Shield, Education Department beat Gibb, Livingstone and Co. 3 and 2, Harbour Ofice beat Harry Wicking and Co. at the 10th, and H.M.S. Cornflower (H.K.N.V.F) beat But- terfeld and Swire.
In the second round of the G. M. Young Cup, Dodwell and Co. beat Lowe, Bingham and Matthews, while Manufacturers Life Insurance beat A.P.C. after a tie. On this latter occasion it was decided if necessary to decide the match by the number of holes difference, and this regula- tion had to be enforced.
In the same competition, Butterfield and Swire beat the Standard Vacuum Oil Co.
