The notes exchanged In Rome on December 31, between Sir Erle Drum- mond and Count Clano on the integrity of the present territories of Spain, are now made public,

The British Ambassador, in his | note, begins by recalling the Com- mons' question and answer of Decem- ber 10 on the guarantee given to the British Government by the Govern ment of Italy concerning the Balearic Islands and cites Mr. Anthony Eden's necount of the giving of assurancer which, he pointed out, were verbal.

This assurance, the Secretary State added, was subsequently re affirmed spontaneously to the British Naval Attache in Rome by the Italian Ministry of Marine, and the Italian Ambassador in London had on several Occasions given to the Secretary of State smaller verbal assurances."

Sir Eric Drummond's nole then proceeds: "In view of these assur ances His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom assumes that so. `tar pe Italy is concerned the integrity of the present territories of Spain shall in all circumstances remain intact and unmodifed. A sigh came from her, "I do not love him. I cannot marry him.”

Her eyes lit up and her volce became soft.

"I am in love with an Engllahman, and he is in love with me, I do not want to divulgo his name, but he belongs to an aristocrailo family. Some day we will marry.

"He is not a millionaire, but he has a heart of gold, and always does the right thing.

"He sent me those lovely roses, The American would have sent mel something out of the ordinary, something queer which would not have given me anything like the pleasure the roses did."” Wants To Settle. Down

Lolita, who is well known on the American stage, screen and radio, expects to make a film over here.

She has won fame as a Spanish dancer, but she says she is tired of

the stage.

"I want to give li up, to settle down with my Englishnann, to have children, and lead a quiet life.

"First, though, I want to make a 'hit' in London: I feel I owe that to myself. Then I will gladly marry my Englishman and give up the stage for ever."
