"AN ACCIDENTAL ENCOUNTER"
A German version of the fate of the Lusitania was published in the Vocllischer Beobachter on May 7, the anniversary of the sinking of the liner by a U-boat.

Captain Karl Scherb, who was officer of the watch in the sub- marine U 20' when it encountered the Lusitania off the const Ireland, says the Morning Post Berlin corre 'pondent, told the story of the liner's end in a long article, entitled "The sinking of the English auxillary cruiser, Lusi- tania." His necount helps to clear up several points that have been debated for many years.
