Public Prosecutor Struck Blind.
In the course of a case of theft dealt with at the law courts, the Vienna public prosecutor, Dr. Wunderer, who is very much feared in consequence of his great severity and sharpness of expression, unexpectedly address- PJ the judge, using NORTO incoherent words. Not before sonte minutes passed was it realised that he had suddenly lost his sight. The proceedings were interrupted, and the public prosecutor was taken home in a motor-car.
The doctors believe that this sudden blindness of. Dr. Wun- derer, who is not quite fifty years of age, has its cause in nerve trouble: they cannot yet say with certainty whether it will be Permanent.

At a meeting of the Port Elizabeth (South Africa) Museum Board the director, Mr. F. W. Fitzsimmons, who is well known for his work in connexion with serums for use against snakebite, made an announcement in regard to discoveries of skulls in rock shelters at Tzitzikama

All over the country, parti- cularly along the rivers, added Mr. Fitzsimmons, were to be found specimens of chipped stone, tut no trace of the ancient race that had worked them. He hoped that his latest discovery would prove the key that would help to reveal the history of man in South Africa. Mr. Fitzsimmons explained that Professor Dart the anthropologist At the Johannesburg University, agreed with his view.
Mr. Fitzsimmons intends to carry out further investigations at the Tzitzikama cave.
