The Imperial Sericultural and Silk Yaru Company has now come to an end, so far as the fulälment of its work is concera. ed. The Mainichi, commenting upon its activities, saya that the company first attempted to bor row 30,000,000 from the Go vernment in addition to its capital. of Y36,000,000 in order to purchase the idle stocks, amount- ing to 100,000 bales, of "good first-class" and "super fine the fixed price of X1,500 and Y1,680 respectively, while carry- ing out an entire suspension of the output of yarn throughout the country for seventy-nine days in order to check the in- crease in stocks. But the tarms, offered by the Industrial Bank were such that it would have been necessary to get the capital fully paid up in order to proceed further. Half the capital had already been paid up but the were sverse to another call, and as a consequence a demand was laid before the Government and, on the basis of the Government's responsibility for a sum of $30,000,000, further purchases
