Pumping operations were started at low tide about six o'clock at night, and the water within the cofferdam fell steadily. By half- past eight o'clock it was seen that the vessel was aflost, and half an hour later the sponsons rose above the level of the river. Pumping was continued for some time longer until the steamer was raised to about her normaliery modern convenience for Ocean Travelling, draught. All the arrangementa made for the salvage of the vessel worked smoothly, and at the con- clusion of the operation. Captain, Burns was heartily congratulated on the success of his exorts.
