Contracts have been awarded for the creation of the now C.P.R. Hotel in Vancouver, which entail before it is completed in its entirety, an oxpendituro. of throe million dollars. The work is complicated by the fact that the hotel will be erected on the site : of the proson building, the business of which will be car- rind on throughout the operations." Freight Rates on Japan Tea. The question of the Pacific Troight rates on tea, which has boon ponding for a long time, las now onded by the Japaneso ship ping companies withdrawing from tho Comforence, so far as this part of the carrying trude is com corned.
