Tho Norddeutsalier Lloydiver steamer Meileo which was in collision with n Japaneso boat Bone time ago and stove in. her bow, came out of the Shang.. hai Dook and Engineering Com- pany's dry dock on the 18th inst., and went across to the company's work at Pootung to completo repairing. She will probably be finished this week.

The "China Press" states.that as soon as the Meilee left the day dook the Jardino, Matheson steamer Kwong Sung went in for a general overlinuling.

S.S. Kutsang Consured. On May 7 while the Indo-China etr. Kulsang was loading, she started unexpectedly, causing a Jampan, which was alongside to upset, throwing fifty-six coolies into the water, of whom sovon were drowned. U. S. Shipbuilding Industry Declining.

The decline of the shipbuilding industry in the United States during the past five years-viz., 17 per cent. in value of materials, 14 por cont. in the number of men employed-is frequently commented on in Massachusetts (says the British Consul-Gehoral it Boston).
