We have received from the Hongkong Observatory 'a siew code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong on New Year's Day. They are the sadis af those at present in use at Shanghai, and will

be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball at Kowloon Paint for the information of masterk of vessels leaving the port. They do not neces sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The signals are as follows
