LEAGUE REFORM PROPOSALS
MacDonald Refuses To Take Lead
London. December 18. The Prime Minister, Mr. Ram- say MacDonald. was asked in the House of Commons yesterday" if he favoured the appointment, of a Committee to draft proposals to the be submitted at Geneva for reform of the League of Nations with a view to preventing further secession from the, League of Na- tions and to promoting the ad- hesion of all the great Powers.
He replied: "No Slr. I am not in favour of such a course.”—British Wireless Service.
DEVELOPMENT IN BOMBING 'PLANES
Capt. Eden's View
London, December 18. Replying to a question in the House of Commons to-day, the Foreign Under Secretary, Captain Anthony Eden, said that so far as he was aware it was not a fact that in most countries in Europe the strength of aircraft specia- cally designed for bombing was being increased.
He understood that all types of aircraft might be, to some extent, used for bombing.
It was to meet this dimculty that Articles 34 and 35 of the were British draft convention designed.
The proposals contained in those articles continued to represent the policy of the British Govern- ment:
In their view, the whole problem of disarmament was vitally urgent. He assured the House that every effort was being made to achieve a general agreement covering all aspects of the problem.--British Wireless.
