Fram Hongkong (about)

A number of Chinese recruits arrived in the Colony to-day bound for the war zone. They are credited with being in the ser- vice of the Canton Government and as far as appearances seemed to be an improvement upon the members of the nine- } teerith Route Army which -were in the Colony a few days ago: A new remarkable, thing about the

arrivals was the fact that, un- like, their predecessors, they were. dressed neatly in grey uniforme were well taken care of, and the which appeared as though 'they

soldiers themselves were all young SOMALI men. the majority of them being in their early twenties.

Looking for Troubles?

Those who make the waten- front their promenade were treat ed to an unusual sight yesterday: morning when two junka;drew up to the whart near the French Ship Andre Lebone looking like seventeenth century men-o-war. One of these vessels was equipped with six cannon that might very. well have come out of the ark and the other though only carry-| ing two guns had enough armour plate on it almost to sink it. Per- haps the owners plan a little war of their own or thến again, with pirates so promiscuous, they might think be living up to the Boy Scout matto "Be prepared."
