SUGGESTED
A suggestion that legislation em- divans should be introduced was powering the closing of opium made by Mr. Wynne-Jones at Cen- tral Magistracy yesterday when a Chinese was brought before him on a charge of keeping an opium divan at No. 69, Stanley Street.

Statement IncGITECŮ.
From the affirmation the only inforence that could be drawn was that authority was given to make the application on behalf of the company. It was obvious that that statement was wholly incorrect. The next important mis-statement or nort-statement was to the effect that the position of creditors would not be prejudiced hy making the order. The inference in that respect was that the company was in such a solvent position that not only would the mortgage be satis- fied but there would be abundanct left for other creditors.
