ROYAL HONG KONG YACHT CLUB.
INTERPORT ROWING AND CLOSING CRUISE.
PRIZES DISTRIBUTED BY WIFE OF REAR COMMODORE
CANTON WINS THE ROWING.
The weatheonditions were ideal for the closing cruise of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club which took place on Saturday. This function, which is always well attended, really takes the form of garden party regatta during the course of which the cruises and rowing races take place. Lawn howls is also played, and the close of the proceedings is the distribution of the prizes won during the afternoon and during the past season.
One of the most interesting events of the day was the inter- port rowing contest between Canton and Hong Kong in which Canton won two of the three events.
A race for Navy whalers attracted eleven entries from the various warships in barbour, and a keenly contested race resulted in a victory for a crew from H.M.S. Hermes,
The bowls contest resulted in win for the teams skippered by Mr. Shaw and Mr. Edwards.
I
Mrs. H. S. Rouse, wife of the Rear-Commodore of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, distributed the prize to the accompani ment of applause and much cheering from the naval men.
