FIRST DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP STILL OPEN.
NEW LEADERS IN THE SOUTHERN SECTION.
ILFORD WIN AMATEUR CUP.
Sheffield Wednesday, leader of Division I., were beaten on Saturday. Another twe points are necessary before they are safe for the championship, as Leicester and Aston Vila are behind them with a deficit of three points and all bave two matches left to close the saISON. Cardiff and Bury are at the foot of the table, but Burnley's position is none too secure.
Second Division leaders and their rivals both won their en-" gagements and are still level on points, Grimsby having an advantage over Middlesbrough in having played a match less.. Port Yale and Clapton look like losing their place in this Division. Northampton were dethroned from the top of Division III. (Southern) by Queen's Park Rangers who wil now go all out for promotion. The matter of promotion from the Northern Section is still open with the two contenders both winning their matches. Bradford City are one point behind Stockport with a match in hand.
The Rangers, who have already, won the Championship of the Scottish League. had to divide the spoils for the fifth time this season. A good performance was a 9-3 victory by Queen's Park over Third Lanark,
Ilford established themselvesas amateur champions by defeat. ing the Cup holders. Results as cabled by Reuter and revised Logue tables are appended.

The Navy First Team somewhat compassed their supporters in the loss of the Junior Shield, by taking full points from Recreio at Caroline Hill. Playing without A. Cosano, the losers were sadly handicapped, but the team put up a plucky display. The quality of play de- teriorated somewhat in the closing stages, and neither side were able to add to their account.
Before a big attendance on the Club Ground, South China secured the Senior Shield by a fine victory over Kowloon, the score being five goals to nil in their favour The result was really never in doubt and South China were lead, ing all the way owing to a surprise goal in the first minute of the match. Kowloon had been seen to much better advantage in their earlier tics, their play yesterday being singularly lacking in com bination and sparkle. Kowloon kicked off, but Chiu Kwok electrifi- ed the crowd by sending in a shot which Angus allowed to roll over the goal line. A spirited attempt at retaliation followed, in which Hedley and Miles were minent. This, however, was frus- trated by the defensive work of Li Tin Sang and Lau Mau and the South China forwards again proceeded to force the pace. Fung King Cheong had the ball in the not, but the point was disallow ed owing to off-side. South China went further ahead soon, after- wards, Li Wai Tong giving Augus no chance.
Angus was none too steady in the Kowloon goal, some of his clearances being far from convincing, but Pau Ka Ping" in- | creased his reputation by the cool and confident manner in which he got the ball away. Just before the interval glorious &
