The First Division of the League, as usual, did nothing last Saturday, in accordance with the apparent motto, "Never play this Saturday what you can put off to some poten- tial week-end in March or April. What is the good of a fixture list if no one bothers to attempt to
keep to it? Those who desire the League to continue will have to see to it that there is some sort of control exercised over this sort of thing or it will go dead one time. There are one or two clubs-I won't mention any names-who are parti. cularly bad offenders in this res- pect, and it seems & great pity that they enter at all Bat, of course, it is only what is to be expected with the present utterly unbusiness- like methods of conducting the League. I never thought to have to quote Soccer to cricketers-but there they have got a governing body, which governs. And I suggest to the League officials that they
die gracefully.
