TENNIS" NOTES.
The "A" Division of the Tennis Laague has nearly completed its programme. Only two matches re- main to be played, vis, Hong Kong | Cricket Club . Kowloon Cricket Club; and Craigengower r. Uni- versity. Of these the latter tie will decide which Olub will occupy the bottom position in the table. Both have one point only, and as they meet each other in the last match, one must naturally remain in the last place, as the other Clubs have

Craigengower, who started the season extremely well, are now end- ing in a disappointing manner. The only change in the team has been that T... Lay dropped out after their second match against the Chinese Recreation. The others have, however, shown" a marked failing in form. During the last week end they lost two matches. On Sunday they went down to the Indian Recreation Club by the big margin of 23 games, which was un- expected in view of the Indiana' poor showing this year. The In. dians, however, produced good form
In the other match a better game was seen and the pven struggle made play interesting. W. G. Lamb and A. E. Johnston (B. & 8.) rec: 3/0 and C. C. Stark and E. J. R. Mitchell (owe 2/6) were the players, and the latter won by two sets to one, 6-3, 28, 8-3

team. Included in the Craigen- gower team were zo less than five ex-members of the Indian Recrea- tion Club.
Owing to this loss of players, the Indian Recreation Club have fared badly this season and in contrast to their fine performances since they joined the League in 1921 (they having always been either first or second) they have dropped to last but one in the table.
Their record for the season is as follows:-

The M.B.. have also completed their fixtures, and have four wins to their credit. They have done consistently well in the Longue dur ing the last three seasons and al- though they have never besa serious competitors for the shield have always finished near the top. Their "record is as follows:--

As was generally expected, the Chinese Recreation, Club beat the "B" Club de Recreio in the
Division. The Portuguese came nowhere near the Chinese, and in contrast to their fine performance against the same Club last year in the final, they managed to win, two seta only, both at 6-6. A margin of 15 games is not an exceptional score for the Chinese, as they have beaten many Clubs by wider margins, but it is suggestive of the comfortable manner in which they beat the Por tuguese. It also suggests that they have, at least, maintained the form they showed last year.
.
As a result of the above match the Portuguese have dropped down from the second position in "the League Table to the third South Chinn and Hong Kong Cricket Club' "are on level terms for the runnere up position and it seems likely that the two will decide between them. selves who will eventually occupy that place.
