CHINESE R.C. DO WELL AGAIN.

SOUTH CHINA "B" NO MATCH

FOR CHAMPIONS.

In a match that evoked a great deal of interest among local tennis enthusiasts, especially the Chinese, the Chinese Recreation Club beat the South Chins Athletic Associa- | tion in the "B" Division. The match was regarded as of great | importance, as neither team” had hitherto been defeated, and a win for either would, in all prob- ability, secure the Shield for the surrent season. The Chinese B.C. started favourites, and while South, China had quite a good hope of winning they proved, as the game proceeded no match for their com patriots, who, on their own courts won by a margin af. 91 games. The Anal score suggests the strength of the winners Bouth China failed ŝto make an impression, and lost by a greater margin than was generally expected. At no time daring the match did they appear to have a look in and a summary of the de-

tailed scores show that they only

secured 2 out of the 9 sets.
