Should the "Cricket Club courts not be available, then other places must be considered. The Chinese Recreation Club, who staged a successful series of matchon laxis. winter, is quite a delightful venue for matches of this nature and the Cub can be relied upon to make, the best possible arrangements for the accommodation and entertain-6-1. ment of the Shanghai visitors and the local public. They have (Greece) 4-1, 84, Bil targe a backing'se any other Club in the Colony and an Interport programms there would be well patronised both by their own mem- Gers and by the tennis fans at large. The Kowloon Cricket Club is also another possible place. They have received cricket teams feated Mrs. R. Lycett (Britain) 6-2, from Shanghai on several occasions, &-2 and whenever there is a Cricket Interport Shanghai always look forward to a match on the Kow. Hoon ground. With such a recom- mendation Shanghai tennis players would, no doubt, be ready to play on the Kowloon courts.
It is hoped also that Shangbai will be able to bring down their strongest team. A meeting of re presentative players of both ports is most desirable, and it would ter tainly be a treat to watch the best talent of Shanghai and Hong Kong Autumn against
another. Q00 should suit Shangbai admirably as they end their championships at the end of Summer. Their playera would then come down well season- ed and Hong Kong would thus have chance to see Shanghai form at its beat. The chief char- acteristic of Shanghai play is hard hitting, while Hong Kong has a reputation for brainy play. With two different styles of tactice in conflict local tennie enthusiasts would have something far more the ordinary interesting than 'Championship matches bere.
Matters are expected to come to a decision soon in regard to the Tennis League. Attention has been focussed on the performances of the Chinese Recreation Club who have had a remarkable series of successes during the past fortnight. Already they are within an ace of winning the "A" Division Shield for another year, having only the M.B.K. to deal with, and this. their last match, will be played to-day an their own courts. In the other ewo divisions they are also hot avourites. Their rivals in the
B are also Chinese, being the South China Athletic Association who are determined to make a fight of it. The match has been fixed for Saturday and a great deal of
interest is being centred in it. In the "C" although the South Chins are unbeaten so far, it is, ja all likelihood, expected that the Arst and second teams of the Ch
nese Recreation Club will even- tually decide between themselves who will win the Shield
